Emailing Clients Guide
There isn’t one answer to the question, “How many emails should I send my potential customers.” However, there are a few guidelines one should follow to set up your email marketing campaign for success! Every company is different one way or another.
Whether that be the products or services they sell or the customers they target, each company runs differently. It’s up to you and your company to figure out the best recipe to send out emails to get the most engagement. At OneCom Media & Marketing, we have tried and true methods when it comes to emailing clients. Below, we’ll go over some of what we’ve learned in the past and what goes into your email campaigns.
Timing is Everything
The timing of your emails says a lot about your company. People are very quick to decide for themselves when it comes to email. They are quick to subscribe and quicker to unsubscribe. They are quick to read or not to read. Finding the right balance for you is key. The Direct Marketing Association’s National Client Email Report says most marketers (35 percent) send 2 – 3 emails a month. This balance helps keep customers informed without being overloaded with information.
It’s not just about how many times a month you decide to start emailing clients. It’s also about what day of the week or time of day. The worst mistake you could make when sending an email is sending it over the weekend. Most people use this time to relax and spend time with friends and family and are not checking their email. The best time to send your email will be during the hours of 11am and 2pm. These hours fall right into people’s lunch breaks where people will be on their phone the most.
Test as You Go
As you start to figure out what technique of email works best for you and your company when it comes to emailing clients, remember you don’t always have to be right. It takes time to figure out your method and you may not be right on the first try. An average CTR is around 2%. If your engagement rate and click through rates aren’t as high as you’d like, step back and change it. Every customer base is different, and it may take time to figure out what they want. Don’t be discouraged if your first few emails aren’t as successful as you’d like. Eventually you will find your sweet spot when it comes to sending emails.
Make it of Value
A successful email marketing campaign is all about making sure your emails are getting good responses. Once you have figured out the system that works best for you, its time to enhance your content. People will continue to stay subscribed if your email adds value to their life. By finding the type of content that keeps peoples intrigued, your marketing campaign will continue to be successful and your engagement rates will rise.
Figuring out what method works best for you when emailing clients will answer your logistical questions. The next email you are ready to send, think about your timing and the value it holds to your customer. Thinking about email marketing for your business? Contact OneCom Media & Marketing today.
